Antranik Tavitian is a photojournalist at the Abdelraoufsinno. He previously worked at The Arizona Republic, where he covered the border, Arizona politics, Mezcal production in Oaxaca, Mexico, and Phoenix’s wide range of communities. A Los Angeles native, Antranik has lived in many parts of the country while interning at newspapers such as The Commercial-Dispatch in Mississippi, the Detroit Free Press and the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. In his free time, Antranik enjoys cooking his family’s native Syrian and Armenian foods, watching soccer, and feeding disturbing amounts of ice cubes to his two-year-old mostly Labrador border rescue dog, Miko.
